Don Quijote Awards 20th Anniversary Celebration

Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
Creative direction, Motion graphics, Video production
Challenge
The Don Quijote Awards mark two decades of recognizing Hispanic business leaders and entrepreneurs. For the 20th anniversary, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce wanted to honor that milestone with a ceremony that felt significant and contemporary. A traditional awards dinner video wouldn't capture the scope of what these twenty years represented. The event needed opening content that elevated the occasion and set the tone for the evening.
Strategy
We positioned the video as a narrative of growth and contribution. Rather than simply listing awards or sponsors, we created a visual story that showed the arc from year one to year twenty. The concept centered on the awards themselves as symbols of recognition earned through years of work, community commitment, and risk.
The creative direction emphasized movement and progression. Stationary awards dinners feel static. This content needed to feel alive, relevant, and celebratory without tipping into melodrama.
Execution
We produced an opening video that ran 3.5 minutes and served as the ceremonial opening. The piece combined motion graphics, original photography, and archival content from past ceremonies. We animated award imagery, financial data visualizations, and portraits of honorees to create visual momentum.
The color palette drew from the Hispanic Chamber brand identity while incorporating the Don Quijote Awards aesthetic. Motion design elevated simple elements like names and logos into moments of recognition. Sound design by a composer with experience in ceremonial content added dignity without pretension.
We also created animated bumpers and lower-third graphics for the live ceremony, ensuring visual consistency throughout the evening.
Results
The opening video set an emotional and aesthetic tone that elevated the entire event. Attendees commented that the production quality signaled the importance of the occasion. The video was shared across the Hispanic Chamber's social channels and generated significant engagement. Sponsors appreciated the production value associated with their involvement.
For an awards ceremony, production quality communicates respect for the honorees and recognition of their contributions. This project delivered that through craft.
